Fall is in the Air! As the weather shifts to cooler temperatures, the month of October brings beautiful fall foliage to our Pioneer Valley. Whether we visit local festivals and craft fairs in our picturesque towns, go apple picking/harvesting, spend an afternoon of "leaf peeping," or hiking, every year we are amazed at the beauty around us right here in our own backyard!
It is also a time of reflection and planning for the coming year. We're hearing from some of you who are already preparing homes for the spring market; and from those of you who would love to move before the holidays. Our three offices located in Amherst, Belchertown and Northampton currently have a wonderful variety of properties that are waiting for new owners. We're hosting open houses so that you may visit our homes presently on the market and see for yourself why it may be a good time to move. Stop by one or more of our open houses this weekend and during the month of October and meet our team!
The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) reports that some home prices are up. "The median selling price for single-family home in July was $350,000 which was up 7.7 percent from $325,000 in July 2012. On a month-to-month basis, home sales were up 11 percent from 5,615 homes sold this past June." "The combination of buyers wanting to close and move in before the start of the school year and their concern over increasing interest rates resulted in another positive month in July," said 2013 MAR President Kimberly Allard-Moccia.
