Year to date the Jones Team with three offices in Belchertown, Northampton and Amherst have closed on over 320 properties in Hampshire, Hampden and Franklin counties.  While it's been a busy spring and summer, inventory remains low in specific price points – especially for those first-time home buyers, which translates into a slightly lower number of sales.   However, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR) reports that median home prices have risen due to pent-up demand resulting in multiple offers.  The buyers are out there, but not enough properties to fill the demand.  If you're considering placing your Home on the market, whether soon, or next year, contact our qualified team of professional REALTORS®.

Is it a good time to place your home on the market?  Our Jones team all agree that now is the perfect time, since winter lingered on we have fewer homes on the market.  "Additionally, we are seeing homes going under contract very soon after hitting the market, and some with multiple offers,"  according to Dave Marques, manager of our Northampton office.   In a recent article from the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR), its president stated,  "Demand has outpaced supply with plenty of motivated buyers, but not enough homes for sale to meet the need."   Read more from MAR…  If you are considering selling your Home, contact our Jones Group REALTORS® today for a Complimentary Market Analysis!

Linda Rotti, Sales Manager from our Amherst office reports that there has been a 20.7% increase in sales in Hampshire County. "The fact that prices are down from the same time last year by 2% reflects the fact, I believe, that the first time homebuyers are a strong part of the market purchasing more of the lower priced homes." According to calculations from the REALTOR® Association of Pioneer Valley there is a 7.5 month supply at current rate of sale. The market is considered balanced when there is between 7.5 and 8.5 months of supply. This means we cannot define it as a Seller's or a Buyer's market-which is good for all! Read more on MASSLIVE.com.
